Safer Sleep Event

We know that greater awareness of safer sleep leads to a decrease in the numbers of babies dying.

This event, hosted by The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust and Rotherham Safeguarding Children's Board, is aimed at professionals and volunteers who work with children and families/carers to raise awareness of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) and the proven advice on how parents can reduce the risk of it occurring.

This two hour workshop will cover the following:

  • Local and National SIDS Overview
  • Case Scenario
  • Traffic light group work - focusing on practice and products
  • Evidence based safer sleep Practices - key messages
  • Identifying risk and Escalation process

It is ‘National Safer Sleep Awareness Week’ during 11th-17th March 2019 and this training, endorsed by The Lullaby Trust, gives the life-saving safer sleep advice which will support workers to assess risk and equip parents with information on how they can reduce the risk.
