An eating disorder is a problem with how we think about food and displays itself in craving for or avoidance of food.
The two most common types of eating disorder are:
Anorexia nervosa - starving the body to an unhealthy weight.
Bullemia nervosa - binge eating then induced vomiting eating, or taking pills to prevent weight gain.
This site provides information about support and treatment available for people with eating disorders, for their carers/families, friends and for professionals who work with them.
